3 Must Haves For Event And Conference Business Cards

A one size fits all approach to business cards is a no-no in today’s competitive marketing environment. The low cost of printing up a new batch of business cards means that you can tailor your cards to fit particular events. If you’re planning to attend a conference or event in the near future, you should have some cards specially designed and printed to hand out at the event.  These cards customized for this event will be more effective than using your day to day business cards.

As you customize your business cards, there are some important things that you should keep in mind. One of them is that your card must still represent your brand. Therefore, you’ll need to include elements that maintain continuity with your other marketing materials. Your business name, logo and brand colors are elements that must be included.

For double sided business cards, you can maintain the same front design and customize the back to suit the event that you’re attending. If you’re using single sided cards it might be a challenge to make changes and still retain the integrity of the design. A graphic designer with an eye for detail might be able to assist if it proves to be too much of a challenge for you.

Here are some other elements that you must include on your event or conference business cards.

A Landing Page URL

Your day-to-day business cards will include a link to your website homepage. On your event business cards, you could replace that homepage URL with a special offer page that you created just for the event. In this way, attendees can go directly to the offer that you would have talked about or promoted at the conference. Make sure that you include effective call to actions on that page, including visible Download or Buy It Now buttons and a subscribe box to capture email addresses.

Special Offers

Give attendees a reason to visit your landing page by including details of a special offer on your event business cards. Your brochures and fliers would promote your special offers, but you should include them on your business cards too. It won’t be possible to provide full details on the card, so you’ll have to include a catchy title and the link to your landing page where more details will be provided. Make the offer a limited time offer, but keep the page updated with new offers for those people who might visit the page after the offer has expired.

Taglines

Add a new twist on your existing tagline to target the specific clientele at the conference. For instance, if your business tagline is more formal, you can tailor it so that it fits a more casual crowd at the conference. A few minor changes will be more effective if your tagline is made to resonate with your audience.

Get creative and add these and other changes to design business cards for your upcoming event. Once the design is complete ask your printer about printing up a short run for you.
